Steven Jackson

Co-founder

Steven specialises in Accountancy & Finance and Sales & Digital Marketing recruitment, where he’s amassed over 8 years’ experience in the industry.

Steven started his trade in London before moving back to his hometown of Edinburgh. He applies a genuine passion for developing strong customer relationships and with a stellar work ethic, he is able to match first-class talent with his client base in the Digital & Tech SME market.

Martyn Aitken

Co-founder

Martyn has over 6 years’ experience in the construction and property sector, Martyn has gained technical knowledge, built strong relationships and developed an excellent network across both public and private sectors.

Martyn is known for his work ethic and is a very motivated individual. He originally trained and worked as a chef before going into the car industry which provided him with a great grounding of hard work as well as helping him develop an excellent sales and customer service background. Martyn fell into recruitment as a trainee consultant after deciding he wanted his weekends back. Having been fortunate enough to have worked for a large plc, he has had great training and sector experience across both public and private sectors.

Areas of Expertise

Martyn’s main area of expertise and area of focus is within the construction & property sector. He provides a personalised service and recruits for contractors, consultancies and public sector clients on a freelance and permanent basis.

He covers technical pre contract roles which include:

• Property & Surveying,
• Engineering,

• Building services.

With Martyn’s expertise, he has the know how to deliver the best service possible.

Outside the office

Martyn is a big foodie and enjoys travelling to different parts of the world sampling different cuisines. When he’s not overindulging in food you will find him on his mountain bike or on a big hike with his girlfriend Niamh and French bulldog Freddie. He is often found playing a round or two of golf in the summer although this usually just turns into hitting the ball and spending the rest of the time looking for it.

Debra specialises with Youth Recruitment at AJ Connect, she has 23 years’ experience in supporting Youth & Graduate employment.​

Hamish Levein

Senior Delivery Consultant, Accountancy & Finance

Hamish is specialising within Accountancy & Finance here at AJ Connect, where he is starting out his journey within the industry. He has just recently graduated from the University of Aberdeen, with an upper second-class honours degree in Ma Geography. He is a driven individual with ambitions to achieve high standards in everything he undertakes, creating a high quality of service with the customer relationships at its core.   

Hamish has hit the ground running and is developing his network across the Scottish permanent and temporary Accountancy & Finance markets in both the Public and Private Sectors. He provides a personalised service and recruits roles which include:
