Contract: Full time, Temporary (3 months)
Hourly rate: £22 – 28
 
AJ Connect is seeking an experienced Statutory Accountant to join a client in the Scottish Borders. As a Statutory Accountant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality statutory financial reporting, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and accounting standards.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 

• Compile year-end journals and transactions for different accounts
• Year-end transactions for Treasury Management, including the compilation of Treasury numbers for year-end accounts
• Quality Assurance of Retirement Fund Accounts 
• As needed, assist the staff with year-end tasks.  

 
Skills & Experience: 

• Qualified accountant (ACCA/ICAS/CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualification experience in a similar role.
• Experience of preparing statutory accounts and financial statements, and knowledge of relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Strong technical accounting skills and a detailed understanding of financial reporting requirements for public sector organisations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial information.
