Salary: $110,000 – £$135,000 + Fantastic Benefits

Position Overview:
A leading company in the utilities and renewable energy sector is seeking a Financial Analyst with a strong focus on construction activities, particularly in customer growth and new business. This pivotal role involves comprehensive financial and process analysis, modelling, and business analytics. The successful candidate will gather and interpret key metrics, support high-level executive reviews, and influence department strategies through insightful financial and operational reporting.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct detailed financial and process analyses to support construction activities, focusing on metrics that influence customer growth and new business initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain visual presentations (tables, charts, graphs) to illustrate data effectively for stakeholders.
  • Manage departmental databases, ensuring data accuracy and availability.
  • Provide monthly evaluations of financial performance, re-forecasting capital budgets as necessary.
  • Develop and monitor construction cost metrics and dashboards, identifying significant cost drivers and optimization opportunities.
  • Propose and implement innovative analytics and processes to enhance reporting capabilities, add value, and ensure the success of the department.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning for special projects, including budget development and business case documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, ETG Tariff, and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis, data interpretation, and providing variance explanations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with a good understanding of other Microsoft Office tools

Required Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills with a proven ability to address complex problems.
  • High degree of initiative with the capability to work independently and collaboratively within a matrix organization.
  • Excellent attention to detail with robust communication and presentation skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in utility construction or the natural gas industry, familiarity with construction regulations, and proficiency in SharePoint, PowerBI, Maximo, and Workday.
