Location: Edinburgh – hybrid working
Contract Type: Temporary, full-time
Salary: £12 -14 hourly rate
AJ Connect is thrilled to be representing an award-winning Law Firm that is actively recruiting for a Credit Controller to join their high-performing and dynamic team in Edinburgh.
They are a firm that is focused on creating an inclusive, and collaborative workplace that allows everyone in the Firm to grow both personally and professionally.
The Credit Controller will be sitting within the wider Finance team of 13 that consists of AML Compliance, Credit Control, and Accounts Payable. The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely with another Credit Controller on a day-to-day basis.
You will be responsible for:
- Taking card payments via the online portal
- Monitor monthly payment plans to ensure funds are received on due date
- Provide excellent customer service on phone calls, emails received from clients
- Issuing fees and receipts to clients at month end and upon completion of property sales
- Maintaining and monitoring credit control inbox daily, escalating as required
- Attending monthly review meetings to support Head of Credit Control
- Establishing relationships with client finance teams to ensure efficient and timely cash collection
- Chase overdue debtor balances in line with credit control procedures
- Ensure the highest standards of quality, accuracy for inputting data to the system
- Manage a portfolio of accounts, ensuring timely and effective collection of debt
- Ad-hoc duties as and when required by Senior Management Team.
What you’ll need to succeed in the role:
- Credit Control experience – Legal industry is highly desirable but not essential
- Excel skills required, ability to produce pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and other formulated data
- Work within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under own initiative and proactively drive improvement in the function
- Team player, capable of building strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to adapt well to change.
