Job Title: Accounts Payable Team Leader
Location: Newbridge, Edinburgh – flexible and hybrid working
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Annual Salary: up to £32,000 + benefits
  
Are you an experienced Accounts Payable (AP) professional seeking a new challenge? AJ Connect is excited to once again be partnering with Element Materials Technology, one of the fastest-growing companies in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification sector! We are currently searching for an ambitious AP Team Leader to join Element’s team in their Edinburgh HQ.
  
As the AP Team Leader, you will report directly to the EMEA AP Manager and play a vital role in supporting the daily AP operations. This position offers you the opportunity to showcase your leadership skills and contribute to Element’s continued success!
  
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing invoice entry, coding, and keying processes
  • Conduct reviews of AP journals and monthly aging analysis
  • Overseeing PO and GRN matching, and investigating discrepancies
  • Assisting the AP team in research and issue resolution
  • Supporting the weekly manual payments process for European stakeholders
  • Performing monthly reconciliations and reporting
  • Handling audit queries from internal and external auditors
  • Collaborating and communicating effectively with other Finance teams
  • Developing and implementing standard operations procedures (SOPs) for AP
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve best in class status.

  
Experience and Skills required:

  • Extensive experience in multi-site AP support
  • Highly competent with CRM and Accountancy systems – MS Dynamics 365 experience is desirable
  • Strong prioritisation skills and ability to direct operations
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and knowledge of cash and banking processes
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and team-orientated mindset
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
